A 3.5-magnitude earthquake shakes the Sierra de Cadiz



Trembling Sierra de Cadiz. This morning, at 05:44, the mountain town of Algodonales became the epicenter of a 3.5-magnitude earthquake with a depth of one kilometer. Although the earthquake was felt in many municipalities in the region, such as Zahraa and Al-Boski, no personal or material damage was reported.

This was confirmed by the National Geographic Institute (IGN), where it was reported that between 3:24 am and 06:42 am, up to 7 more movements were recorded with the epicenter in Algodonales and with an intensity of between 1.7 and 2 magnitude.

They record 8 tremors, between 1.6 and 2 degrees, in less than 4 hours

IGN also reported that two other earthquakes, of a smaller magnitude, were also felt in El Gastor (Cádiz), with a magnitude of 1.6, and in Valle de Abdalajín (Málaga), with a record of 1.7. Richter scale.

As confirmed by Emergencias 112 Andalucía, none of these tremors caused any damage.
