The former mayor of Arenys de Mar (Maresme) has been appointed by the ERC, Anabel Moreno as the new Generalitat Ports Director, replacing Pere Vila. Moreno retired from active politics when he lost the mayor’s office to JxCat.

As reported on Thursday by the Generalitat Lands Department, Moreno was mayor of that city between April 2016 and June 2023 and was a regional deputy at the Diputació de Barcelona in the latter period, between 2019 and 2023.

Born in Barcelona in 1973, this lawyer and politician was also Vice President of the Associació de Municipalis per la Independència between 2018 and 2020. She graduated in law from UB, and obtained a master’s degree in administrative law from the Barcelona Bar, with a graduating in child protection and Childhood and Adoption from the University at Buffalo and has undergraduate studies in political science and management.
